Welcome to Nomads. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data when you use our travel app and related services, in compliance with GDPR and applicable law.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
Name, email, date of birth, username, profile photo, bio, nationality and gender (optional). Credentials are stored securely.
Location Information
GPS and city data for relevant content, travel planning, maps and location features. Disable in device settings.
Communication Data
Private messages, chat media, public posts, comments, likes and in-app interactions.
Technical Information
Device, OS, app version, IP address, push tokens, crash logs and anonymized usage stats.

4. Storage and Security
Data is hosted on Firebase (Google Cloud, EU) with HTTPS/TLS encryption. Private data uses secured buckets; public content is separate. Access controls, monitoring and backups apply.
5. Third-Party Services
- Firebase/Google Cloud: auth, database, storage, functions, messaging
- Mapbox: maps and geocoding
- Google AdMob: advertising
- Backblaze B2: media storage
- Each provider follows its own privacy policy and contractual safeguards.

7. Account Deletion and Retention
Delete your account via Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent.
- Removed immediately: profile, posts, plans, media and auth tokens
- Profile anonymized as "Deleted User"
- Sent messages deleted; received messages may remain in sender history as "Deleted User"
- Technical logs: up to 90 days; backups: up to 30 days

9. International Transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EEA. We use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent GDPR safeguards.
10. Minors
Nomads is for users aged 16+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 and will delete it if discovered.
